WARZONE

In 1994, Goss joined Warzone, a seminal New York hardcore band, after meeting lead singer Raymond “Raybeez” Barbieri while working at The Ritz and through a recommendation from Todd Youth (also of Murphy's Law, Motörhead, Ace Frehley). He played guitar on the albums Split with Cause for Alarm and Lower East Side, both released by Victory Records, and toured in Europe and Japan. Goss wrote most of the tracks on the Cause for Alarm split, which was praised for returning the band to its hardcore roots, with one reviewer noting it “sounds like the first Warzone album … a close encounter of the old‑school kind.” In 1996 the band issued Lower East Side, a set of re‑recorded classic songs the band felt were “never properly recorded in the ’80s,” bringing a tighter and more refined execution to the material.

Warzone / Cause  for  Alarm Split

Released in 1995 on Victory Records, the “Warzone / Cause for Alarm Split” is a 10‑inch split EP featuring tracks by both New York hardcore bands Warzone and Cause for Alarm. The Warzone portion of the record is noted for returning the band to its core hardcore roots, capturing the energetic NYHC style for which the band was first known.
